Want to know what goes on behind the scenes in a travel blogger’s life?
We want to tell you that it’s all about sunset selfies, exotic holidays, and brunches in beautiful locations. Sometimes it is, but most of the time it isn’t!
This is why I finally decided to jump on the Snapchat bandwagon and bring you an unedited version of the life of a travel blogger.
That’s it! You can find me on Snapchat under the username thetravelhack
Actually, I was inspired to sign up because of Adventurous Kate’s blog post about Snapchat last month. Up until now, I couldn’t really “get it” at all. But like Twitter five years ago, I didn’t get it because I wasn’t following the right people. I was following a friend who would randomly upload snapshots of traffic jams and dinners, and I couldn’t understand why anyone would want to see this. Then I started following some great travel bloggers and suddenly it clicked.
These travel bloggers showed me the “real” version of their lives and the places they visited. I love her raw, unedited style on Snapchat. You can also see the real people. It’s easy to make everything look incredible if you have a DSLR camera and are pretty good with Photoshop, but Snapchat lets you look exactly like a blogger. All warts.
Today I’m going to be in London to meet up with some of the guys at Lumix and talk about some of the exciting projects we’re working on together. And tomorrow I’m flying out to Portugal for a good old fashioned sunny vacation.
If you want to see what I’m up to, follow me on Snapchat for the unedited version!
