Blogging e-courses, books and workshops for a better blog – The Travel Hack

Blog e-courses, books and workshops for better blogging - The Travel Hack

Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to improve your blog? Or would you like to start one from scratch?

If so, you are never alone!

Many of us are looking to revamp and reinvigorate our blogs in the new year, so we’ve compiled a list of helpful blogging workshops and e-courses. Even if you’re an experienced blogger, I think it’s a good idea to take a new course, learn a new skill, or read a book to re-motivate yourself. You never know who you will meet or what you will discover!

One of the only ways to continue to grow, achieve, and develop is to keep learning. No matter how old you are, how busy you are, or how successful you are, if you stop learning, you are setting yourself on a path to destruction.

I’m not just talking about professional learning. We’re talking about learning a new skill or hobby, or trying something new for the first time.

Working for yourself will make you more motivated to take courses and learn new things. The world moves so fast, and if you’re not constantly surrounded by colleagues, it’s easy to get left behind without realizing it.

Here I will introduce some blogging courses that I am paying attention to. And to be honest, I’m actually a bit of a nerd and I miss college so much. An excuse for new stationery…

The Blogger Course – £125

Of course, the biggest and best course is the blogger course. This is my 12-week course aimed at bloggers who want to make the leap from hobby blogging to professional blogging. This is a guide to taking things a step further and making more money through blogging so that you can eventually blog full time.

BLOGSHOP – The Photoshop course for bloggers – £192

Whether you are a blogger or not, this Photoshop course looks great. I have read many positive reviews and have seen how a blogger’s photos improved significantly after taking the course.

I used to be a photography purist and thought editing photos was cheating. And I realized that everyone edits their photos and it’s just stupid not to. Courses can be taken in person (mainly in the US) or online.

Travel Writing Workshop – £115

I’ve always wanted to take part in a travel writing workshop and was drawn to this one in central London. You can choose between a day course or an evening course.

Start Writing Fiction – Free

I enrolled in this course earlier this year, but never got around to completing it. I don’t plan on starting a novel, but I find writing fiction really relaxing, and I think any writing practice will be useful for blogging.

DSLR Basics – £60

This is an e-course from the blogger behind the hugely successful craft and lifestyle blog “A Beautiful Mess.” I find most photography guides too boring and hard to follow, but this one looks fun and inspirational.

Documentary Course – £350

This looks like a really interesting course, although I’m only dreaming about it now as it’s expensive and takes place over 5 weeks. I’m really interested in creating videos for The Travel Hack and this sounds like a great course to help with.

I took the Street Photography course at City Academy and really enjoyed it. I think you will learn a lot in the 5 week course.

Blog Bootcamp – £253

This blogging bootcamp from Secret Blogger Business is one of the few blogging bootcamp courses that I think is very good. I am very wary of most courses as they are often run by bloggers who write small blogs.

Enrollment will begin in April or May next year.

The Dextrous Diva 10 Day Blog Challenge – Free

I actually did this challenge with Joe from Dextrous Diva. If you’re new to blogging or struggling to find the time to blog, I highly recommend this challenge. Every day for 10 days, Joe will send you a small challenge. It doesn’t take long (probably 30 minutes). Keeping in touch with us via email regularly will help you stay on track. It might not be worth it for experienced bloggers, but it’s free so it’s worth signing up for.

How to blog for profit: without selling your soul

Blog e-courses, books and workshops for better blogging - The Travel Hack

– £7.07 or free with Kindle Unlimited

If you have Kindle Unlimited (which is like the Netflix of books, £7.99 a month with a 30-day free trial), you can download over 650,000 books, hundreds of which are about blogging. Most of it is a pile of crap, but “How to Write a Blog for Profit” is really worth reading. Recommended for both beginner and intermediate bloggers who want to take their blog to the significant ‘next level’.

EPIC BLOG: 1 year editorial planner

Blog e-courses, books and workshops for better blogging - The Travel Hack

– 10.87 pounds

The Epic Blog Planner helps you brainstorm new content ideas, but it also helps you set goals and reach them. This includes everything from blog business plans, progress reports, income reports, blog maintenance tasks, and weekly schedules. You can also create your own planner using a Word document or Excel, but I’m a big fan of this handy planner.

Are there any courses you would like to take in 2015?
