I’m so excited to finally be living in my new home. After 9 months of hard work, we renovated our house and moved in.
Check out my last post to see what it was like:
We bought a house!
8 months have passed since the home renovation project
I waited until the house was absolutely perfect and 100% complete before I started writing articles about it. It’s not completely finished yet, I’m just waiting to put the finishing touches on it and give it a homely travel theme. If there’s one thing I’ve learned recently, it’s that when you have a baby and a very busy life, your home will never be “perfect.” It is our version of perfect thinking. This is perfect for us and we love it. Despite the fact that there are wires hanging everywhere, there are already dirty handprints on the walls, footprints on the doors, and much of the junk has yet to find a home.
I painted the whole house white. Now it’s like a gorgeous blank canvas for us to start playing with.
I’m a strong believer that the kitchen is the heart of the home, so let’s start there…
and now….
I wanted my kitchen to be relaxing, bright and fun, so I chose this gorgeous blue color. The kitchen and all appliances were by Howdens. Although we went over budget with the slate floor, I’m really glad we did it. It looks great and you don’t have to worry about scuffs or scratches.
These clocks are my favorite decorations in the kitchen. The clock is from George Home from Asda and the text stickers were created using her Tenstickers. We have a very easy service where you just choose your text, size and font and it will arrive within 5 days.
We chose cities that had meaning to us, not just random cities. I like it because it’s personal, but I wish I had realized that the time difference between Hong Kong and New York is exactly 12 hours. Failure.
Every kitchen needs a chalkboard. I intended to use it for “inspirational messages” or reminders, but it often ends up with childish doodles that look like a 12-year-old boy’s writing.
So here are the travel-themed kitchen products that are on my wish list!
