Thank you very much for all the wonderful comments and congratulations on Tuesday’s post. In case you missed it, yes, I am pregnant!
Even though the bulge has grown and it has taken me 5 months to deal with this problem, I am still in complete shock. I can’t believe I’m actually going to become a mother.
Feeling the fluttering in your stomach with every kick, twist, and turn makes it feel more real, but honestly, it’s hard to believe until you hold your baby in your arms. Masu.
Every time I tell someone I’m pregnant, I get the same question. Since I shared my baby with the blogosphere, my inbox has been filled with the same questions, so I thought I’d answer them all here in case anyone else has any questions.
In case you missed the blog announcement….

What will you do about travelling?
I have no plans to stop traveling completely. I’m due to give birth in March, so I’ll stop flying in January. I’m already starting to slow down because I get tired so easily. It won’t be long before traveling long distances becomes a pain. Once the baby is born, I don’t know how soon I’ll be up and ready to fly, so I haven’t made any solid plans for my trip yet. (If anyone has experience, I would appreciate any advice!)
I’m not in a hurry, but I also don’t plan on waiting years!
I’ve heard that traveling with a baby is much easier than traveling with a toddler, so I think we’ll be squeezing in a bunch of trips as soon as we’re ready. I travel with the baby and as much as possible with Sam (he has a full-time job and limited holidays, boo). But when Sam is away, he has a long line of his friends and family waiting to accompany me. I don’t like the idea of traveling alone with a baby, but maybe this whole thing about motherhood will be easier…? I’m sure it will change the way I travel. You’ll probably work slower and definitely nap more!
What will you do about blogging?
We’ll continue with our travel hacks as usual, but we’ll also include some tips on how to travel with a baby. I don’t want this to be a baby blog, but I do want to show that you can travel with a small baby.
The birth of a baby is probably the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to hibernate inside the house for years and stop doing what I love!
I was a little nervous about how this blog would turn out, but I’ve already been contacted by several companies who want to work with me, which makes me really happy. There are several possibilities, including a babymoon, prenatal retreat, postnatal retreat, relaxing holiday in the UK, or a baby-friendly trip abroad.
I’m not going to be traveling for a few months – there will be periods when I’m not allowed to fly and I’m sure I won’t be able to fly for a few months – so I’m open to guest posts and interviews A few of my favorite bloggers are making sure things don’t get too quiet. (If you are interested in guest blogging, please email me!)

Will you be a ‘mummy blogger’?
yes! I don’t really like the term “mom blogger” though’.
If you search for “mummy blogger” on Google, you’ll get a bunch of boring blogs about cleaning products and how to make organic baby mash. It’s filled with terrible photos and sponsored posts of the most mundane products imaginable.
Thankfully, not all blogs are like this, and I’m gradually discovering a whole community of amazing bloggers who have had babies, travel-related or not. I hope I can find a better word than “mommy blog,” but I’m going to step in and launch a new blog dedicated to all the baby-related things going on in my life. I know that many of The Travel Hack’s readers aren’t interested in babies, so I wanted to break things up a bit.
When is your baby due?
My due date is March 14th, so I’m only halfway through my pregnancy!
Will you be blogging about your pregnancy?
Probably not. It’s not on The Travel Hack anyway.
I’ve read a lot of pregnancy blogs and they’re all very interesting, but to be honest, I don’t really have much to say.
I’ve been incredibly lucky, but all I’ve experienced is fatigue. No cravings, no sickness, no weird feelings, no panic attacks, no big mood swings (sorry, Sam, although I may disagree), and no major worries. I had all the normal worries that most pregnant women have, but I’m not a natural worrier so I just kept it normal. A lot of people don’t even know I’m pregnant because I haven’t shown much yet.
I know I’m lucky and things could change, but I’m actually really happy and have nothing to say!
Is it OK to travel while pregnant?
of course! Since I became pregnant, I have traveled to the following places:
- Cyprus (although I didn’t actually know about it at this point)
- Ljubljana (again, I had no idea!)
- Glasgow (Commonwealth Games)
- venice
- dubrovnik
- Mykonos
- istanbul
- Egypt
- Paris (twice)
- reel
- Berlin
- Turin
- dublin
Other than not drinking wine and cocktails in the evening, I haven’t changed my travel style much. I was disappointed not to be able to scuba dive in Egypt, but that was the only thing I felt I missed out on. It was pure coincidence that I didn’t have any international travel booked between 5 and 12 weeks pregnant. I spent most of July and August at home, planning to enjoy the summer with friends, family, and one of my best friends who was visiting from Australia. Weeks 8 to 12 were probably the hardest weeks of my pregnancy so far. I was so tired! Luckily, I work from home, so I haven’t had too many problems lying down or working in my pajamas all morning.
Do you know if you’re having a boy or a girl?
Well, we’re having a boy! We weren’t planning on finding out, but changed our minds at the last moment. It was weird because from day one I was sure it was a boy. Obviously there was a 50/50 chance of getting one or the other, but I was so proud of myself for getting it right!
First baby purchase. Converse is large, medium, and small. Louis doesn’t know what to make of something so small.
