If you’d like some ideas or recommendations for specific products, keep reading to see my favorite items when packing for a UK holiday.
Today I’m sharing my packing list for a UK holiday so you have everything you need and don’t forget the essentials.
Preparing for a trip to the UK can be difficult, as the weather can be changeable. One minute it’s warm and sunny and the next it’s snowing.
One thing you can almost guarantee while on holiday in the UK is that it will rain at some point. If it doesn’t rain during your trip to England, you’re very lucky!
If all else fails, blue jeans and a white t-shirt will never look out of place!
Try to stick to one color theme so you can pack light and make all your items work together.
A windproof and waterproof jacket at the beach? Yes… that’s the place!
Don’t even think about visiting without a warm winter coat!
What clothes to pack for a UK holiday
Temperatures in the UK are mild and ‘jeans and a t-shirt’ are the go-to outfit for any occasion.
We wear jeans and T-shirts all year round! You can wear this outfit in most situations, dress it up or dress it down, add warm layers or take off layers when it’s hot.
When in doubt, wear jeans and a T-shirt. No matter your age, jeans and a T-shirt are fine.
jeans
Levi’s 501 is my favorite. If I want to pack light, I’ll stick to Levi’s black super skinny high-rise as they’re suitable for so many situations (links below. Yes, I buy them on Amazon, because they come in bulk Please check the size and send it back before paying). Pair it with heels when going out to dinner, hiking boots for a walk, trainers for a casual day, and sandals when it’s hot.
You get the picture. These are versatile jeans and you wouldn’t want to go on holiday in the UK without them.
jumper
Whether you call it a jumper or a sweatshirt, these are a staple when preparing for your UK holiday.
Again, we love jumpers. Because it can be dressy or casual, really warm, or just a light layer.

Thin T-shirt and vest
The UK has many mild to warm days throughout spring, summer and autumn, so pack a t-shirt or vest for those rare days when the sun does shine.
Casual shirts are also super easy and look comfortable, casual, yet put together.
light jacket
A light jacket is also essential for a holiday in the UK. This is not a big coat, but a lightweight version for those days when you need more than just a jumper.
Light salmon is also perfect
comfortable shoes
Here in the UK we walk a lot, both around towns and cities and in the countryside. Wear comfortable shoes to keep you comfortable throughout the day.
My go-to shoes are:
- winter doctor martens
- Spring Veja Sweatshirt
- Birkenstocks perfect for summer
- adidas hiking walking trainers
- In Cloudnova – so comfortable that it is suitable for all
umbrella
Umbrellas are always needed! If you don’t have an umbrella, be sure to bring a waterproof jacket with a hood!
