Now that the baby is born, I feel like I can say the following. Sometimes I just don’t like kids.
Don’t get me wrong, I generally love kids. Their chubby little faces and adorable laughs are cute beyond words, but there is a time and a place for this cuteness, and sometimes I just don’t want to go near it.
Sometimes I want peace and quiet. I want to relax without having to worry about name-calling or hearing the high-pitched cries of small children running around. It is during the holidays that I definitely seek tranquility. Especially after a relaxing beach vacation soaking up the sun.
So I’d like to tell you about the latest hotels to add to my travel wish list. Barcelo Hotel Group’s new hotel in Lanzarote. Barcelo specializes in “Adults Only Hotels” and Barcelo Teguise Beach looks like the jewel of the Canary Islands.
I have stayed in several hotels that do not allow children, and I have noticed that there are definitely fewer children, but the atmosphere is also different. I know I’m saying something obvious, but it sounds a little more mature. It’s classier, more stylish, and often more luxurious. The emphasis is on quality food and wine, and no chicken nuggets or sticky fruit shoots will be featured. Health and well-being are important and the décor is impeccable, with elegant white walls and plenty of furnishings, so you won’t want to mess anything up with your dirty fingers.
This all seems to be the case with Barceló Teguise Beach, which is why it’s firmly on my travel wish list.
Many people seem to discount the Canary Islands as a holiday destination. While you might think of cheap and cheerful package holidays in Tenerife, the Canary Islands are a great option for a relaxing holiday. Temperatures are warm all year round and flights from the UK are an absolute bargain!
Sorry, back to Barcelo Teguise Beach….
Barcelo Teguise Beach has recently been renovated and designed in an avant-garde style. It’s minimalistic, simple, stylish, and very classy. They say a picture speaks a thousand words, so let the picture speak for itself…
The hotel is located on the seafront overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and features Balinese beds. This is a place where you can sit back and relax with a cocktail or two while soaking up the sunshine and stunning views.
The hotel has a luxurious wellness center with massage and treatment rooms, Turkish bath, sauna and ‘Sensation Shower’. I don’t know what a sensation shower is, but it sounds sensational. If you have never been in a Turkish bath before, you must try it. It remains soft and smooth for several weeks after use. Perfectly complements sun-kissed skin!
If you’re feeling too relaxed, you can always explore our beautiful island. Lanzarote is known as the “Black Pearl of the Atlantic”, but I think this island is completely underrated. You can go hiking in Volcanoes National Park, snorkel or scuba dive in the crystal clear waters. As the island is windy, surfing and windsurfing are also popular activities.
If this sounds like your type of vacation, check out Barceló Teguise Beach for more information.
What do you think about adults-only hotels? Are you a fan or do you think kids should be welcome everywhere?
